These Genealogy packages are tailored into blocks of 5, 10 or 20 hours or research. By the end of the research hours, you will have an idea of whether the priority requirements are resolved or whether more research time is required. Please select a package that suits your needs.
We can bespoke packages to your requirements, but be mindful that for however many hours of research you required, you will also need to factor in the time taken to build a report around it – usually twice the number of hours of research.
Mini Family History Package
5 hours of Research & 10+ hours of analysis and report write up.
This may be a set of grandparents, great grandparents or another couple of individuals within your ancestral line that need researching. It may be a complex brick wall or some simple DNA Analysis – the brief can be tailored to your needs.

Additional 5 hour block of research @ £500
Standard Family History Package
10 hours of Research & 20+ hours of analysis and report write up. This may be 2/3 generations, or a Direct Ancestor Only report, a Brick wall discovery, DNA Analysis or more – the brief can be tailored to your needs.

Additional 10 hour blocks of research

– Beyond the initial 10 hour report, there may be scope for additional research on individuals needed, further exploration on certain branches of ancestral trees. Should you wish for me to do more generations / more research, this will come in the form of additional 10 hour blocks of research.

Is your preference to have a couple researched rather than an individual? One generation i.e. Husband and wife? Or a sibling or parent / child of your individual? Add one or more additional people on for £150 pp (limit 5 people) additional certificates charged separately, at cost.
Extensive Family History Package
20 hours of Research & 40+ of analysis and report write up. This covers approx. 3-5 generations, additional siblings or individuals or a Direct Ancestor Only report, or DNA analysis or a mix of the two – this can be tailored to your needs. This also includes 3 x Free BMD Certificates (where this applies geographically).
(works out at around £32 per hour)
20 Hours of Research + Report / Documentation

– Free Initial Consultation
– Detailed narrative report, complete source references
– Transcriptions of all certificates and census records obtained
– Additional evidence to support the BMD evidence where required. E.g. Probate records, military, Electoral rolls etc.
– DNA Analysis with traditional family history research
– Copy of the family tree chart
– Copies of census returns found, if appropriate
– Certificates of birth, marriage and death purchased, first 3 Certificates are FREE, the rest chargeable at cost. Dependent on availability.
Typical Documentation received by client: 50-70 pages.
Additional 20 hour blocks of research
£1700
– Beyond the initial 20 hour report, there may be scope for additional research on individuals needed, further exploration on certain branches of ancestral trees. Should you wish for me to do more generations / more research, this will come in the form of additional 10 hour (see above) or 20 hour blocks of research.

Supporting Documentation / Certificates
£12.50 Physical doc, £8.00 for a PDF or £3.00 for a digital image from GRO – prices may differ in other countries (dependent on availability)
Any Additional BMD certificates ordered and purchased as part of the research will be charged at cost – usually £12.50 from GRO.gov.uk or £8.00 for pdf or £3.00 for a digital image (if available).

Archive Visits / Per the Hour work
£42 ph
I have access to a number of Archives and will visit any on your behalf at the chargeable hourly rate plus travel costs and any printing costs incurred. Archives may include but are not limited to:
Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire Archives
The National Archives
The London Metropolitan Archives
Suffolk Archives
Norfolk Archives
Cambridge University Library & Archives
Any others within Cambs or surrounding counties, including London.
Also Access to Scottish Archives, the NRS, NLS and University of Strathclyde
Nicosia State Archives (if combined timings link with a trip to Cyprus – no travel costs unless a specific trip is requested)
Presentation Folder
£30 (approximate) – If you would like the report and charts to be presented in a Presentation Folder, there are options available at an additional cost.
Report Printouts (A4 paper copy)
£1 – Printouts can be provided as requested at additional cost (min £1 per copy).
Additional Travel costs
£0.45p p/m
Where travel is required to archives outside of the County of Cambridgeshire or a 20 mile radius of CB6 3SR (whichever comes first), I reserve the right to charge additional costs of travel at the rate of £0.45p per mile.
